Education and Outreach
It’s Benton SWCD’s mission to nurture a conservation ethic by educating county residents on conservation and environmental issues. We are dedicated to providing educational opportunities for adults, youth, and children throughout Benton County. Contact us if you are interested in working together to educate our community about water and land resources.
We’re working on increasing outreach efforts and are always looking for opportunities to partner with local organizations, schools, community groups, etc. on outreach and educational events. There are many educational materials available for teachers, educators, local non-profit groups, associations, and more.
Items Available to Use:
EnviroScape Watershed/Nonpoint Source Model
This model has the ability to show pollution from point and non point sources. Point sources are single identifiable sources of pollution from which pollutants are discharged such as a pipe, ditch, or factory smokestack. Nonpoint source pollution generally results from land runoff, precipitation, atmospheric deposition, drainage, seepage or hydrologic modification.
Benton SWCD and NRCS would like to offer our staff and EnviroScape model to you and your classroom as a resource for learning. For more information or if interested in using this model, please contact us!
