Hess’ Feedlot Improvement Project

Open feedlot runoff is a concern for surface water and groundwater pollution.

In 2019, we worked with a private landowner on a feedlot improvement project. This project addressed these runoff concerns by moving cattle under a roof and into a dry structure. This feedlot has a manure storage system underneath the cattle area to capture all pollutants safely.
