Adopt a Drain Program

The newest volunteer opportunity is with the city of St. Cloud. Benton SWCD assists with outreach and education about this program.

To volunteer, simply visit adopt-a-drain.org to select storm drains near your home or business to adopt and commit to keeping those drains clean from trash and other debris. To adopt a drain, do so directly through the Adopt-a-Drain website.

Please contact the City of St. Cloud at 320-255-7226 or email stormwater@ci.stcloud.mn.us with questions.

Rain Gauge Program

The Climatology Program (also known as the Minnesota State Climatology Office) exists to gather, archive, manage, and disseminate historical climate data in order to address questions involving the impact of climate on Minnesota and its citizens.

The SWCD coordinates the rainfall program for Benton County. County citizen volunteers record daily precipitation amounts and submit monthly readings to the SWCD.
